Scope 1 - Direct GHG emissions
Scope 2 - Indirect GHG emissions
Scope 3 - Other indirect GHG emissions
Scope 2 emissions are determined from energy purchased by your company, such as the electricity you consume to keep your facilities running. Scope 2 emissions are also accounted for in your GHG inventory as a result of your organization’s energy use.
Scope 3 emissions include all other GHG sources that go beyond Scopes 1 and 2. These result from your company activities that are important to your value chain but make use of resources that are not in your ownership or control, such as business travel, leased assets, and procured services, such as logistics and distribution.
